BBC1 lost in Austen as Doc Martin triumphs

BBC1’s latest adaptation of classic novel Emma struggled to reach much more than half as many viewers as ITV1’s Doc Martin, with 4.4m (17%) tuning in to see Romola Garai take on Austen’s heroine at 9pm.
