Jahreal Madogashi Wright has progressed at a rate of knots since joining Sky as a junior edit assistant through the Mama Youth Project.

Going on to become a workflow supervisor and joining Sky’s technical team, he specialises in high-pressure, fast-turnaround work.

As the primary support for providing Premiere League clips both domestically and internationally, where the workfl ow was moved from EVS to Adobe with Helmut 4 orchestration, Wright managed the technical side while ensuring delivery and supporting the PL team as they navigated this change to their work.

Last year, he single-handedly built and installed a standalone edit and producer prep station on site at Sky’s outside broadcast for its darts coverage, ensuring it could upscale its volume of content. Similarly, he worked with Sky’s F1 technical lead and other specialists to provide a new edit solution that involved switching workfl ows from Windows to Macs.

Jono Taylor, one of the technical specialists involved, says: “Jahreal was key to making this work through the various tests and issues we encountered. If I could use one phrase to describe Jahreal, it would be ‘someone who gets things done’.”

Jahreal also helped James Przygrodzki, a post-production technical lead, to deploy a new fi le delivery workflow for Rugby Super League. “He is an extraordinary member of the team with a thirst for knowledge,” says Przygrodzki.
