In the three years since James Langridge joined Bumblebee Post Production straight from university as an edit assistant, two things have stood out to his bosses.
When the company transitioned to Dolby Vision, UHD HDR capability, James took the lead in training and understanding new workflows, ensuring the team was well equipped for the change, pushing the indie forward technologically.
Another outstanding achievement was in creating the workfl ow for Bumblebee’s biggest commission to date: more than 100 episodes of 5’s Bargain Loving Brits In The Sun.
“What could have been an overwhelming technical and operational challenge was made manageable through James’s smart use of automation and efficiently crafted workflow for a complex international shoot,” says Bumblebee head of post-production Lorenzo Culora.
Langridge oversees technical operations across two London facilities and provides support to two regional offices, designing complex workflows, training staff, co-ordinating post schedules, managing data, tracking project capacities and adjusting resources as needed.
His work has supported production on shows from BBC2’s Putin And The West to C4’s Gender Wars and BBC1’s Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour.
“James’ quick rise is due to a highly versatile skillset, primarily in technology, but also in scheduling staff, managing resources and developing workflows,” says Culora.
