Gameshow format returns to Philippines and Turkey after more than a decade off air
Banijay gameshow format Deal or No Deal is returning to Turkey and the Philippines following more than a decade’s hiatus in both countries, Broadcast International has learned.
The format will air in the Philippines on ABS-CBN having originally aired as Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal, for over 870 episodes between 2006 and 2016.

A local version is also being prepped for ATV Türkiye, where it makes its return to the country after a 16-year break. The show was first adapted as Var Mısın? Yok Musun? for Show TV, where it ran for 350 episodes from 2007 to 2010.
Both versions are being produced in-house.
The deals reflect ongoing demand for the 24-year-old format, which was revived in Australia by Network Ten in 2024 following eight years off air. It was also rebooted for ITV in the UK in 2023, with a second season airing in 2024.
Deal or No Deal is now on air in 13 territories and is the most widely adapted format in the Banijay Entertainment catalogue. It is also the second most travelled format worldwide.
The show first launched in 2002 in the Netherlands and has spawned over 380 series produced to-date in 84 territories.
Banijay Rights duo Pertash Koul, vice president of sales for Asia, and Alexander Rubanov, sales director for CIS, Balkans & Baltics, said the deals “reflect a broader resurgence” for unscripted formats.
Luis Andrada, vice president of non-narrative programs at ABS-CBN, added: “A lot of things have changed since the show was last on air a decade ago but we are confident the new generation of Filipino viewers will be captivated by the show’s mix of fun, suspense, thrill and strategy.”
