Ford, who takes up the newly created role of vice president of commercial and digital, will focus on creating content for streaming, digital, social, and audio platforms, engaging directly with UK creators.

He previously launched 4Studio commercially at Channel 4 to create and distribute content across social media channels, and was also commercial director at Unilad, helping scale the business from being a start-up to its acquisition by LadBible.

Prior to that, Ford led digital commercial strategies for BBC Studios, overseeing global revenue for social media and looking after brands including BBC Earth, Top Gear, Bluey, Hey Duggee, and Doctor Who.

He also co-founded digital-first media business, CoLabX, and worked at Social Chain and Vice before joining branded content outfit Cowshed Collective in 2022 to drive more Gen Z content.

In his new role, Ford reports to executive vice president UK & Europe Matthew Justice and will work closely with vice president of operations Hannah Smith and president of SPT’s international production unit, Wayne Garvie.

Ford said: “It’s an exciting moment to be part of such an iconic studio, especially one that has such a forward-thinking approach to digital, and I want to hear from UK creators who have bold ideas for new shows, new formats and new channels.”
