Promotions come as Toronto-based firm preps Burger Month for CBC and Countdown to Disaster for History and Corus

Countdown to Disaster producer Cream Productions has rejigged its Toronto-based senior team.

Matt MacLellan has been promoted to president and reports into chief exec David Brady, with a remit to oversee Cream’s overall operations and strategic direction.

He will also lead programming across unscripted and feature films, having most recently been vice president of production, with credits on the prodco’s An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for Bloomberg and Relative Secrets with Jane Seymour for Acorn.

He also executive produced The Horror Section’s upcoming feature film Ice Cream Man, directed by Eli Roth.

Elsewhere, Francine DiBacco is now head of production, overseeing the company’s slate and reporting into MacLellan.

DiBacco, who has been at the Canuck firm for a decade, has led production acclaimed series including The Game Show Show for Hulu and History of the Sitcom for CNN, as well as Blue Rodeo: Lost Together.

Cream’s slate includes Burger Month for CBC and Countdown to Disaster for History and Corus. The company is also expanding its AI and VFX capabilities through Dark Half, which aims to support both the company’s original programming and third-party productions.
