Brazilian star will lead 16 scripted series that use AI production techniques, after licensing his image rights
Microdrama platform FlareFlow has partnered with Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr to create an AI-fueled slate of scripted series featuring the football star’s likeness.
FlareFlow parent COL Group is producing 16 dramas that feature the former Barcelona star, using AI to produce the live-action scripted series.

The partnership is believed to mark the first time a major sporting star has agreed to license their likeness to an AI-produced show.
The deal was unveiled at APOS in Bali and has been timed to coincide with the football World Cup, which began last week.
Six shows will premiere exclusively on FlareFlow worldwide between 19 and 22 June, with the remainder set to be launched across the rest of the year.
The first wave of titles includes The Way Back to Glory, which follows a footballer battling a devastating betrayal to secure one final shot at redemption, and The Playboy System: Scoring the Goddesses, which tracks Neymar as he attempts to complete a supernatural mission to win over five powerful women or lose his talent forever.
James Wang, chief exec at FlareFlow, said the deal represented “a defining moment for the global entertainment ecosystem”.
“Neymar is one of the most commercially magnetic athletes on the planet. Bringing his global star power together with our advanced AI creative workflows allows us to push the boundaries of storytelling at an unprecedented scale.
FlareFlow chief marketing officer and COL Group general manager, Timothy Oh, added: “Drawing male audiences, we are expanding premium vertical storytelling far beyond
its first wave into highly scalable genres like sports, timed perfectly to capture global attention during the major football season.”
“This event-driven rollout proves that premium vertical content is now a dominant force in the global media landscape.”
