ProSieben and sibling streamer Joyn order nine-part celebrity version of adventure reality show
Germany’s ProSieben and sibling streamer Joyn have ordered a celebrity version of reality competition format The Hunt (w/t).
The show is from Seven. One Studios International and is being produced by format creator and sister company Redseven Entertainment, with Motion Entertainment also attached.
The German version, which will air in 2026, comes after the UK’s Channel 4 ordered a 9 x 60-minute version without celebrities earlier this year.
That show is being produced by fellow Seven. One Studios company CPL Productions and Motion Entertainment. A full launch of the format will take place at Mipcom 2025 in October.
The Hunt is a real-world game of hide and seek that sees contestants dropped into a vast, unforgiving forest and being tasked with remaining hidden to win £100,000.
Each episode is built around a hunt in which each player becomes either a predator or prey. The prey hold the cash and aim to protect their winnings while completing challenges to win more money, while the Predators aim to hunt them down.
Contestants wear cutting-edge tracking technology and must remain moving or forfeit their money.
Tim Gerhartz, managing director at Seven. One Studios International, said: “I’m delighted that we have secured a second, high-profile commission for this ambitious, high-concept new reality show.
It is generating a lot of interest among our clients and we are looking forward to giving them a first look at both versions at Mipcom.”
