General manager’s departure is latest senior exec reshuffle at Spanish firm
Spanish giant Grup Mediapro is reshuffling its operations with Laura Fernández Espeso departing after less than a year as general manager.

Espeso had been with the company for more than 15 years, initially joining Globomedia before rising to lead The Mediapro Studio as chief exec in 2020.
She was named managing director of Grup Mediapro in January, having led partnerships with companies such as Penelope Cruz’s Moonlyon.
Shows produced during her watch include Hulu Japan’s The Head and The Boarding School: Las Cumbras for Prime Video.
Former Movistar Plus+ president Sergio Oslé will become president of Mediapro Group, with Prisa Media’s Carlos Nuñez already taking the chief exec role.
Espeso is the latest senior exec to depart Mediapro, with her exit coming in the wake of co-founder Tatxo Benete in October.
Fellow co-founder Jaumes Roures exited in 2023, following a management overhaul by Mediapro’s Hong Kong-based private equity firm owner Southwind.
Mediapro, whose revenues stood at €1.07bn last year with EBITDA of €182m, produces rafts of sports content, as well as scripted and unscripted series for streamers and networks.
Its Mediapro Studios arm has been looking to expand globally and is behind series such as Los Pelotaris, but the wider group has been hit by losing rights to produce coverage of Spain’s La Liga and cancelling its deal to broadcast Ligue 1 in France.
