Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro Berbel joins having worked on originals and acquisitions for Prime Video
Secuoya Studios has hired a Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios exec as its chief operating officer.

Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro Berbel will lead the studio’s overall operations management and oversee organisational development to increase production capacity.
His appointment comes as part of a broader push by Secuoya to expand across Europe, Latin America, and the US.
He joins having been business affairs exec at Amazon, working on negotiations of multiple original productions as well as acquisition deals, reporting into LA.
The exec was previously a senior associate at international law firms Andersen and Écija.
Brendan Fitzgerald, chief exec at Secuoya Studios, described Castro’s appointment as “a qualitative leap forward in our leadership structure.”
“His integrative vision and his capacity to align talent, processes, and strategic objectives will be key to further accelerating the international development of our operations,” Fitzgerald added.
Castro said: “My goal is to bring a strategic and management-oriented vision that enhances efficiency, innovation, and the group’s international expansion.”
Last month, Secuoya Studios hired Sony Pictures Entertainment exec Andrés Zamora to lead its sales arm.
The company has been looking to expand its reach over the past year via its PODS strategy, which sees scripted series, feature films, documentaries and unscripted formats being developed in multiple languages beyond Spanish.
