Canadian series You’re Killing Me already extended into second season by Acorn TV

UKTV, Stan in Australia and Disney in CEE are among buyers of Acorn TV’s Brooke Shields-starring murder mystery drama You’re Killing Me.
The 6 x 60-minute series - a co-production between Shaftesbury and Topsail Entertainment - has also been acquired by BBC Channels (Netherlands, Poland and Africa), HRT (Croatia), TV2 Norway (Norway), Play Media (Belgium), OTE (Greece), and MBC (Middle East and North Africa) following deals with distributor Dynamic Television.
You’re Killing Me follows a novelist played by Shields who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster to find the killer of a close friend.
The drama debuted as US-based Acorn’s top series launch of all time in subscriber acquisition and viewership, and was recently renewed for a second season.
The show was created by Robin Bernheim (When Calls the Heart), who previously worked with Shields on Mother of the Bride.
Bernheim and Shields executive produce alongside Christina Jennings and Scott Garvie for Shaftesbury, and Michael Volpe for Topsail. AMC Studios and Dynamic Television hold worldwide distribution rights outside Canada.
Daniel March, managing partner at Dynamic Television, said: “Brooke Shields brings incredible warmth, intelligence, and star power to a series that perfectly blends mystery, humour, and heart.
“We look forward to working with our partners to expand the show’s international footprint and are excited to introduce new viewers to a series that we believe will become a standout franchise.”
