UK comedy gameshow Unacceptable joins shows heading to Cannes
Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) is leading its Mipcom slate with three unscripted formats, including a true crime show.
The Dark Side pairs a journalist and former detective to revisit compelling crimes and mysteries, and was first produced by WBITVP Finland for Nelonen.

The format retraces what happened, examines the evidence, and explores the competing theories and questions surrounding each case. Cinematic AI-generated dramatisations bring unseen moments to life, exploring not only what is known, but what might have happened.
Also on the slate is comedy game show Unacceptable, which sees two teams of comedians defend controversial opinions and persuade the studio audience to agree with them. It was first produced by Ranga Bee Productions for TLC in the UK.
Cookery format 100 Cooks see home cooks competing against each other as they face the ‘Challenge Mixer’, which decides what they must cook. The ‘Cook Mixer’ determines who will compete and how many cooks will face each challenge, meaning all cooks must be ready for any eventuality.
The show was created by Lando Entertainment for Food Network in the US.
Also on the WBITVP slate are RTR Media’s Home Town Takeover renovation format, produced for HGTV in the US, and the latest addition to the Bachelor franchise, Bachelor Mansion Takeover, also produced for HGTV by Warner Horizon.
Scripted formats include darkly comic drama Crackhead, from WBITVP New Zealand for Three and ThreeNow, which tracks a woman’s bid to go straight at a rehab centre rather than face jail.
Also on the scripted front is relationship drama Time: Out, from WBITVP Belgium for VRT in Belgium, and YA show United, produced by Eyeworks for Ketnet. It follows talented teenage footballers whose lives on the pitch, at school, and at home constantly overlap.
