Mystery surrounded an announcement by Rajar this week that its last batch of radio audience figures had to be corrected because of an 'executional error' in collecting the data. Rajar, as readers won't need reminding, collects its figures by way of a diary system that relies on participants to fill in what stations they've been listening to. Turns out this 'executional error' was down to a diary collector in Nottingham who took it upon herself to fill in 400 of the diaries herself, thereby saving her the trouble of visiting all those people. OTR can only applaud her ingenuity, although presumably the only diary she will be filling in from now on will be her own: 'Tuesday: got phone call from Rajar. Didn't seem too happy ...'
