Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood is to host the UK version of Pimp My Ride, set to premier on MTV in late spring. Westwood will be the British answer to rap star Xzibit, the presenter of the original US show, which follows a crew of mechanics giving decrepit cars a makeover to become 'pimped rides', boasting elaborate paintwork and state-of-the-art stereos. The 6 x 30-minute UK version, which began filming on Monday (21 February), is being produced by MTV's Howie Jaffe.
