Channel 4 topical satire show 10 O’Clock Live is being lined up to return for a third series at the start of 2013.
The weekly live comedy is on the brink of being commissioned with discussions with all the major talent taking place.
Charlie Brooker, David Mitchell, Lauren Laverne and Jimmy Carr are all understood to be returning to the show, produced by Endemol’s Zeppotron.
Any changes to the format are still being ironed out and it is not clear whether the third series will feature the same number of episodes as previous series.
The second series averaged a consolidated audience of 997k (5.11%) across the 10 episodes that were broadcast on Wednesday nights.
This was up on the first series, which averaged 883k (4.58%) when it was broadcast on Thursday nights.
The series is a co-commission between the current affairs and entertainment teams. The second series was overseen by head of entertainment Justin Gorman and former Question Time editor Ed Havard, who is now a strategy advisor at C4.
