Since first opening in April 2002 with just eight edit suites and 12 staff members, Suite has grown to now operate from three interconnected buildings, with 30 edit suites, four audio suites, two grading suites and 34 remote offlines.

Most significantly, though, three years ago, Suite became the UK’s first employee-owned post-production company.

The team members, who are known as “associates”, share in key decisions and, in good years, the profits. A dedicated trust ensures Suite operates in the long-term interest of its people, which nurtures a culture of shared responsibility and creativity, says Suite.

The last 12 months have seen even more substantial changes at the company, with its original founders stepping back from day-to-day management to make way for a new managing director and leadership team. The year ended up being the busiest and most successful in Suite’s history.

The company specialises in British comedy and entertainment, with credits including Have I Got News for You, Gladiators, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and The Graham Norton Show.

One judge said Suite has a “beautiful culture, employee-owned uniqueness, strong entertainment pedigree” adding that it is “a boutique with soul and smart evolution”.

Another judge said the post-production house has “a tremendous atmosphere, feels like family and most importantly, they are excellent, even with the hardest tasks”.

Serious Facilities

In 2025, Serious Facilities opened up a base in Percy Street, London, its first outside of Scotland, where the company already has offices in Glasgow and Govan. The Percy Street facility will aim to attract business, while all the heavy lifting will be done by the Serious team in Scotland, where the ingest/MCR and edit assist team is based.

“London seemed to be the next logical step in our expansion,” said Serious Facilities CEO Simon Cull. “We’ve built a strong and loyal client base in our hometown of Glasgow, but we wanted to branch out and attract new types of work with different clients.”
