BBC factual exec Greg Sanderson is swapping docs strand Storyville for The Review Show.

He will head to Glasgow to become executive producer of the arts panel show, beginning in the middle of September. He replaces Liz Gibbons, who has joined the main Newsnight programme as deputy editor. She will take up the role in early October.

Sanderson will also contribute to other BBC Scotland factual shows, including the Imagine strand.

He was made Storyville’s executive producer in March 2009 and his credits include The English Surgeon, the Prix Italia-winning The Father, The Son And The Housekeeper and Sync Or Swim. He has also worked on classical music for the BBC, helping to develop BBC2’s Maestro and BBC4’s Sacred Music.

BBC Scotland head of factual Andrea Miller described Sanderson as an “intelligent and thought-provoking programme-maker”.

Gibbons paid tribute to The Review Show team and said she was looking forward to the “fantastic challenge” of working on Newsnight.

The BBC is looking to replace Sanderson in his Storyville role, but has yet to name a successor.
