Medical drama sold into more than 100 territories, with deals in the UK, Ireland, Canada, India and across Asia
Australian drama The F Ward is believed to have become the country’s fastest-selling drama ever pre-launch after racking up sales in more than 100 territories.
The six-part medical drama starring Anna Friel was co-produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond and CBS Studios for local streamer Stan, on which it debuted last month.
Paramount Global Content Distribution is attached for sales and has now revealed a raft of deals, with the UK’s Channel 4, Ireland’s RTE, European streamer SkyShowtime, HBO Go in Asia, JioStar in India and CBC in Canada among buyers.
Lat Am streamer Claro video has picked up rights across the continent, alongside Belgium’s Streamz, Quebecor Content, Sky NZ and AMedia Networks (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan).

“Medical dramas have universal appeal, and the show’s underdog story and rising young cast gave it a real breakout energy,” said Don McGregor, president of global content licensing at Paramount.
Bump duo Kelsey Munro and Dan Edwards created the show, with the latter adding: “The audience response in Australia has been truly remarkable. Anna Friel and this exceptional cast have captured the altruistic ambitions, humour and heart of so many within our health system, which has resonated far beyond our first hopes.”
John Edwards is EP, with Dan Edwards and Kelsey Munro producing for Roadshow Rough Diamond. Stan EP’s are Andy Ryan and Michael Healy with Lindsey Martin and Dave Clarke for CBS Studios International.
The series is written by Kelsey Munro, Jessica Tuckwell, Shanti Gudgeon, Nick Coyle, and Jack Yabsley and directed by Natalie Bailey (Down Cemetery Road) and Neil Sharma (Critical Incident).
