Norwegian format sold into Spain
BBC Studios’ Nordic show Nation’s Dumbest is being remade by Antena 3 in Spain and Lithuania’s TV3, in the latest handful of deals for the travelling format.

Antena 3’s version is being produced by BBCS-owned Brutal Media, while TV3 Lithuania’s show is from TV3 Studios, with transmission planned for September.
The format, which was originally created by Montreux Film and Fjernsyn, is BBC Studios’ fastest-growing comedy entertainment format since its launch in Norway two years ago.
It recently sold into Hungary and Denmark, while a US version with Fox launched earlier this summer and became the broadcaster’s biggest summer entertainment debut in four years.
Sumi Connock, executive vice president of global creative network and formats at BBCS, described the format as “a brilliant example of how a bold, yet warm-hearted, local idea can travel and become a truly international success story.”
Nation’s Dumbest sees celebrities tackling a series of logical, mental and physical challenges, while attempting to avoid reaching the final and being crowned the nation’s dumbest.
