Competition show debuted in cinemas last year before being released on Google platform and is now heading to Cannes as a format
Werewolves producer Dreamspark is launching a YouTube competition format in Cannes that was released in cinemas before being watched by more than 3m people on the Google-owned platform.
Terminal was created by MichouCorp, the production company owned by French creator Michou (aka Miguel Mattioli), with Dreamspark, and launched last September.

The battle royale style game follows 16 creators and personalities who grouped into eight pairs of friends and locked inside a sealed arena for 48 hours, with no food and no way out.
Each pair is hunted and must find resources, eliminate others and fight to survive, until a final countdown takes place to determine the winner.
Its first season launched in September in France, taking place in an abandoned airport. The show debuted in almost 500 cinemas across France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco and Tunisia, with 40,000 admissions over a weekend.
It was then released two days later on YouTube - where Michou has more than 11m subscribers - and secured 3.3 million views in 48 hours. The first season production involved 250 crew and 90 cameras filming continuously across 48 hours of battle.
MichouCorp and Dreamspark are now co-producing a second season hosted by Michou who takes the role of a games master. The show will take place at a port in October, with the latter handling creative production and international distribution. Line production is by Digital Nak.
The format being taken to Mipcom is based on the second season and has been set as a hub production, based out of France, with the games master role being taken by a famous figure. Two versions are available, centered on whether contestants are either well-known creators or celebrities.

Moe Bennani, chief exec and co-founder of Dreamspark, said: “[Michou and his team] have the instinct, the audience and the appetite for risk. Season one proved that a creator show could fill cinemas. We bring our expertise in creative production, editing and distribution to make that success repeatable, in France and internationally.”
Michou described the first season as “a personal bet”, adding that it had taken more than a year of work and an undisclosed “seven-figure investment” to get the show onto screens.
“We proved our audience deserved that level of ambition. With S2, we are building a brand that belongs to us and that must live beyond my channel, in other countries and on other screens.”
Dreamspark’s catalogue for Mipcom also includes The Power (W9, Joyn, Disney+) and That’s My Chair! (France 2), alongside aforementioned Werewolves for Canal+.
