Walsh Sisters lead Cineflix’s Mipcom slate

Cineflix Rights is leading it scripted slate for Mipcom with The Walsh Sisters, the Cuba Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures drama for RTÉ and the BBC.

The adaptation of the novels by Marian Keyes explore the lives of five Irish sisters bound by love, history, and a tendency to self-destruct.

Also on the slate is Nordic blue drama Hildur, based on the novels by Satu Rämö, and Australian dramedy Sunny Nights, which follows siblings who set up a spray tan business in Sydney.

Factual offerings includes A New Life in the Sun: Win a B&B and Top of the Block, which features three design-savvy families going head-to-head to create the mist impressive interiors. There’s also Rookie Truckers, about eager yet naive drivers in Australia, and Recording Evil, based on the British Army’s secret recordings of Nazi soldiers and officers held as prisoners of war.

 

Disney+ names date for Hulu rebrand 

Hulu will replace Star as Disney+’ global General Entertainment brand in international markets, including the UK and EMEA, from 8 October. 

The move, which was revealed earlier this year, will see the Star tile on the Diseny+ homepage change to Hulu from next week.

The rebrand will not affect the content available under its banner, with viewers still able to watch Murders in the Building, Rivals, A Thousand Blows and Flintoff, among others, as well as upcoming series All’s Fair and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives series three under the new Hulu tile 

 

Showtime buys UK drama duo

Paramount-owned Showtime has picked up UK thrillers The Guest and Coldwater following deals with ITV Studios.

The Guest is from ITVS label Quay St Productions and will debut on 17 October via Paramount+’s premium plan before airing on Paramount+ with Showtime on 19 October, with eps dropped weekly.

Coldwater will premiere in early 2026 and is from Sister, with release dates yet to be confirmed.

Four-part thriller The Guest premiered on 1 September on BBC One in the UK and follows two unlikely friends as their lives begin to unravel. Six-part Coldwater premiered on 14 September on ITV and follows a normal marriage who finds himself in a far from normal situation when he falls under the influence of someone incredibly dangerous.
