Power Couple heads to US, Mexico
Televisa/Univision has partnered with Dori Media Group to produce a US and Mexican version of unscripted format Power Couple.
The format, created by Abot Hameiri, will debut on the Spanish-broadcaster’s platforms in the US and Mexico from 18 January.
Power Couple, which is owned by Abot Hameiri and Dori Media and distributed globally by the latter, is being produced locally by Fremantle Mexico and known locally as
“¿Apostarías Por Mí?” (Would You Bet On Me?).
The Televisa/Univision show will feature 12 celebrity couples from the region and means the format has now been remade in more than 20 territories.
WBD, Singapore’s IMDA strike co-development deal
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore have partnered to co-develop a slate of unscripted series.
The collaboration kicks off at the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), which takes place next month, which will feature a dedicated masterclass series.
Following the masterclass series, there will be a call for submissions for the joint IMDA-WBD original unscripted format programme, for Singapore-based production companies to apply.
Shortlisted projects will progress to an unscripted bootcamp in early 2026, with the possibility of further co-production and premiere opportunities across WBD’s international networks in 2027.
Beast Games S2 gets debut date
Prime Video will launch its second season of Beast Games from Jimmy Donaldson on 7 January next year.
The first three episodes will drop at once, with following episodes available weekly leading up to the S2 finale on 25 February.
Amazon’s Prime Video said Beast Games’ debut season was its most-watched unscripted show ever, with 50 million viewers after 25 days. S3 has already been ordered.
