Parents’ Evening sells into Spain
Atresmedia in Spain has ordered a local version of UK celebrity gameshow Parents’ Evening following a deal with ITV Studios.
The format will be produced locally by ITV Studios Iberia and follows the extension of the series into a third season by ITV.
Created by Romesh Ranganathan’s Ranga Bee Productions, the show is hosted by Ranganathan and his mum as they test parents’ knowledge of their children’s general knowledge. ITVS sells globally.
Mediapro alum to lead Disney+ Lat Am content
Disney+ has tapped Daniel Burman to lead its original content in Latin America.
The Argentine producer was most recently at The Mediapro Studio, which he joined in 2017 as part of a move to launch his production label with the Spanish firm.
Burman reports to Eric Schrier, president Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy, and replaces Leonardo Aranguibel who was vice president and head of production, ops and strategy Disney Lat Am.
All3’s Gone heads to BritBox
BritBox has bought George Kay’s upcoming ITV drama Gone in North America, while Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, Australian streamer Stan and Sky New Zealand have also picked up rights.
The show has also secured a pan-territory deal covering Asia for its SVoD drama channel BBC First and BBC Player.
Gone is sold by All3Media International and produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures. The six-parter focuses on the investigation into a local headmaster, played by David Morrissey, after his wife goes missing. Eve Myles also stars.
