Mipcom has revealed its delegate count for 2025, with event director Lucy Smith describing this year’s event in Cannes as “the biggest step change in a generation”.

Organisers RX France said that just over 10,600 delegates were in town for the annual get-together, representing a marginal uptick from the 10,500 reported for last year’s event.

Attendees from 107 countries were represented, Smith said, with 350 companies exhibiting in and around the Palais des Festivals, including 88 that were at Muipcom for the first time.

The UK was best represented at the event, followed by the US, France, Germany, Türkiye, Canada, Spain, Italy, Japan and South Korea.

Among the delegates were 3,340 buyers, the most hailing from the US, followed by the UK, Germany, France, Spain.

This year’s conference programme aimed to embrace the creator economy and YouTube took a sprawling suite on the fifth floor of the Palais for the first time.

Smith said: “This has been the biggest step change in a generation for Mipcom. We’ve brought the creator economy into the heart of the market, welcomed YouTube for their first major presence at the market, and staged our first brand-funded content summit in BrandStorytelling which alongside a resurgence of sales and distribution activity has made for an energised market.”

RX also confirmed that the 42nd edition of Mipcom will take place 12-15 October 2026 with Mip Junior returning in its pre-market slot 10-11 October 2026.

Organisers also said its Mip London event would run for three days (22-24 February) in 2026, taking place Sunday to Tuesday, potentially coinciding with BBC Studios Showcase.

It will also run at the same time as the London TV Screenings, which is organised by the largest UK-based distributors and has in recent years kicked off on Tuesdays.

RX added that Mip London will return to adjacent locations at the IET and The Savoy London venues, with a conference programme featuring showcases, screenings and creator economy in the works.
