Corus takes Peacock’s Paper for 2025/26 slate
Canada’s Corus Entertainment has revealed its 2025/26 slate, with The Office spin-off The Paper among shows picked up.
The Paper is from Univeral Television for Peacock and has been acquired for Showcase and streamer StackTV via Corus’s output deal with NBCUniversal, along with The Copenhagen Test, CIA spy drama Ponies, and Sky’s series Amadeus.
Corus-owned W Network is also adding Peacock shows to its slate including buzzy Sarah Snook drama All Her Fault alongside the finale of Outlander, the latter sold by Sony Pictures Television.
Broadcast network Global has added CBS’s comedy DMV, Sheriff Country and CIA to its slate, which also includes original drama Private Eyes West Coast.
WBD’s Three orders Melissa George dramedy
Warner Bros Discovery-owned New Zealand broadcaster Three has ordered a six-part drama from Plus6Four Entertainment, South Pacific Pictures and Dynamic Television.
Ms. X, which stars Melissa George (The Good Wife), has been written and created by Hannah Marshall and David de Lautour. It stars George as a suburban Mum who teams up with an old high school friend to scare her cheating husband into staying faithful, but things turn accidentally homicidal.
The crime dramedy will also become available on WBD’s BVOD service ThreeNow. Production starts today, with the show releasing in 2026. Plus6Four and South Pacific Pictures are producing, with Dynamic Television co-producing and handling worldwide distribution.
BeIN Media Group extends Sony pact
BeIN Media Group has extended its content agreement with Sony Pictures Entertainment, taking exclusive multi-year rights to shows for its service in MENA and Türkiye.
As part of the renewed deal, beIN will continue to hold first and second window rights to select series and films distributed by SPE, which include Outlander, The Good Doctor and anime hits from Crunchyroll.
In MENA, content will be available in both Arabic and English across beIN’s entertainment channels, beIN On Demand, and on its OTT platforms TOD and beIN CONNECT. In Türkiye, content will be available in English and Turkish via Digiturk’s entertainment channels, as well as TOD and beIN CONNECT.
CAKE gobbles up A Lamb’s Stew
Paris-based producer La Cabane and Belgium’s Thuristar have struck an international distribution deal with CAKE for upcoming animation special, A Lamb’s Stew.
The 26-minute show, which has already been picked up by Canal+ in France and ZDF in Germany, has been written and directed by Joeri Christiaen and produced by Perrine Gauthier.
VRT-Ketnet (Belgium) and RTS (Switzerland) have also acquired the short film, which tells the story of a lamb who attempts to lure a wolf into a trap, only to find that he may not be the monster she was led to believe.
CAKE, La Cabane and Thuristar have previously worked together on Mush-Mush and The Mushables, and Luce in the Lovely Land, written and directed by Britt Raes.
Acorn TV extends Harry Wild
AMC Networks-owned streamer Acorn TV has extended Irish mystery series Harry Wild for a fifth season.
The show stars Jane Seymour (The Kominsky Method), who will reprise her role as Harry Wild, the titular amateur detective.
Dynamic Television is again producing, with Acorn Media Enterprises co-producing alongside ZDF. Season Five has been created and written by David Logan, along with writer Jo Spain.
Executive producers are Logan, Spain, Jane Seymour, Daniel March, Klaus Zimmermann, James Gibb, David McLoughlin, Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer. Frank Seyberth and Claus Wunn executive produce for ZDF.
BBC Scotland takes Hello Halo series
River Hunters indie Hello Halo is to produce a BBC Scotland series in which Interior Design Masters champion Banjo Beale and his husband Ro renovate a derelict mansion into a hotel.
The six-part Banjo and Ro’s Grand Island Hotel will take place at the couple’s home island – the remote Isle of Ulva, situated 150 metres off the west coast of Scotland’s Isle of Mull. Read more
