A Smith & Co president exits
Jenny Daly is stepping down as president at American Ninja Warrior firm A Smith & Co. Productions.
Daly had joined the company earlier this summer but is departing to work in the creator economy, according to a memo to staff. Daly had been at Catfish producer Critical Content since 2018 after selling her T Group Productions outfit.
That label had been behind shows including Storage Hunters and Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.
Daly’s credits at Critical Content included Ginny & Georgia for Netflix. Deadline broke news of her most recent exit.
UK’s Sky Sports shutters TikTok channel
Sky Sports in the UK has shut down its female-focused TikTok channel, Halo, three days after it was originally launched.
The channel had faced accusations of sexism, with some criticising its use of pink filters, calling itself the “little sister”, and more. This led to Sky Sports releasing a statement on the channel: “Our intention for Halo was to create a space alongside our existing channel for new, young, female fans.
“We’ve listened. We didn’t get it right. As a result we’re stopping all activity on this account. We’re learning and remain as committed as ever to creating spaces where fans feel included and inspired.”
49ers NFL doc set for AMC
AMC Networks is to launch a San Francisco 49ers docuseries in February next year after partnering with NFL Films.
Rise of the 49ers is an AMC Studios and Skydance Sports co-production with NFL Films and Religion of Sports (ROS). It is directed by Ryan Kelly (The Great Brady Heist) and Nick Mascolo (30 for 30: The Tuck Rule) of NFL Films.
The show explores the dramatic and iconic run of the NFL team during the 1980s and early 1990s.
The first two episodes premiere on Sunday, 1 February at 9pm ET/PT, followed by the remaining two episodes on Monday, 2 February on AMC and AMC+.
Bravo lands Flipping Out’s Jeff Lewis
US network Bravo has greenlit a show that tracks the life of interior designer Jeff Lewis.
Still Flipping Out (working title) will follow the former Flipping Out star as he looks to balance the challenges of his professional and personal life.
The show is being produced by US prodco 32 Flavors Entertainment. Alex Baskin, Jenn Levy, Joe Kingsley, Brian McCarthy, Jeff Festa, Michael Beck, Lewis and Andy Cohen will executive produce.
