Factual series pre-sold to youth-skewing operator in US and will also launch on German operator’s AVOD network

Germany-based Quintus Studios has partnered with Vice TV on a six-part unscripted series exploring some of the world’s most dangerous jobs.
Danger Play is being produced by Adventure Alliance Films in partnership with Quintus Studios, which commissioned the 6 x 45-minute series for its AVOD-supported Quintus Channel Network.
Quintus has also pre-sold the show to Vice TV for the US, Caribbean (English-language only), Australia and New Zealand. Quintus Studios retains IP ownership and holds global sales rights to the series, which has been revealed here in Miami on the first day of RealScreen.
The unscripted series features individuals who confront serious injury and death as part of their everyday lives, revealing the motivation, identity and personal cost behind their career choices.
Each episode focuses on a different high-risk world, including professional bull riding, bare-knuckle fighting, big-mountain skiing, downhill mountain biking, big-wave surfing and sumo wrestling.
The series has been filmed across the US and Japan, using what the producers described as “a verité style” that aims for immersive access and observational storytelling, rather than more traditional interview techniques.
Anouk van Dijk, head of co-productions and sales at Quintus Studios, said the agreement with Vice TV “strengthens our position as a leading co-producer working across both linear television and YouTube.”
She added: “We’re able to deliver premium, access-driven storytelling that performs in algorithm-led environments while also meeting the editorial and technical requirements of broadcasters — all within tightly controlled budgets.
“As traditional partners look to extend reach without increasing risk, this hybrid model is becoming increasingly attractive.”
Adam Jacobs, creative director at Quintus Studios and executive producer on Danger Play, added: “By embedding deeply with contributors and removing the filter of traditional interviews, the series captures an honesty and immediacy that feels true to their worlds.”
Quintus Studios produces and distributes content across its AVOD channels, which claim over 13 million subscribers, including the flagship Free Documentary brand.
