Viral interview show Hot Ones is launching a German version following a deal with Keshet International’s Tresor Productions and Endgame Entertainment.

The show sees celebrities being interviewed while eating spicy hot wings and is launching in Germany exclusively on YouTube from 6pm on 3 July.

The format was originally created by Chris Schonberger from US-based First We Feast, which former owner BuzzFeed recently sold to investors for $82.5m.

Together with Endgame Entertainment, Tresor is co-producing and publishing up to 20 x 30-minute German episodes of the show before the end of this year.

Tresor’s Axel Kühn and Endgame’s Marvin Endres are exec producing alongside showrunner Daniel Zobel (X Factor).

Each episode will be hosted by comedian EMMVEE.

Kühn, managing director at Tresor Productions, said: “Hot Ones has always been a special format to us. The seemingly simple idea of eating insanely spicy chicken wings during an interview has taken celebrity conversations to a whole new level. We’re proud to be producing the German version exclusively for YouTube – together with Endgame Entertainment and inSocial Media.”

Marvin Endres, managing director at Endgame Entertainment, added: “Hot Ones isn’t just an interview show – it’s a pop culture event. We’re finally bringing this global hype to Germany, combining deep conversations with real thrills.”

The show originated in the US where it was hosted by Sean Evans, with the 360 episodes produced so far being watched over 2.6 billion times worldwide. Celebs to have featured range from Dakota Johnson and Jennifer Lawrence to Billie Eilish and Shaquille O’Neal.
