Featuring hard-hitting UK relationship dramas, a Belgian detective series and a clutch of novel adaptations
With the global industry preparing to head to Mipcom later this month, Broadcast International has picked out a selection of the key scripted series making their way to Cannes.
This year’s shows range from Mam Tor Productions’ hard-hitting Half Man from Baby Reindeer creative Richard Gadd, to Australian relationship drama Dear Life and Element Pictures’ adaptation of Marian Keyes’ novels, The Walsh Sisters.
Belgium’s Blind Sherlock from DeMensen provides a compelling and unique take on the detective genre, while Mackenzie Crook’s latest TV creation comes in the form of dark comedy Small Prophets.
There’s also the hotly anticipated adaption of Lord Of the Flies from Sony Pictures Television’s Eleven and Charlotte Regan’s Mint, as well as Fremantle’s emotionally charged crime drama, The Cage.
