Keshet Int’l sells across CEE
Keshet International has completed a raft of sales across the CEE region, including two further pre-sales for Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Canal+ Polska S.A. in Poland and Prima Group in the Czech Republic have picked up the show, with the former also adding Dinner with Gavin Rossdale, feature doc Tale of the Sleeping Giants and Arctic Wildlife in Lapland.
The global distributor has also closed free TV deals with Polsat for shows including 100 Days that Rocked the Royals and Tale of the Sleeping Giants, while Dolce Vita TV has added travelogue Around the World by Train and The Great Gardening Challenge.
In the Czech Republic, Prima Group has licensed Hitler’s Treasure Hunters and Tale of the Sleeping Giants, with over 50 hours being picked up by Croatia’s TV3 Group, including both series of Girlfri3nds.
BBCS, Profour buy from DCD
BBC Studios and Profour are among CEE-based companies that have picked up more than 100 hours of shows from UK-based distributor DCD Rights.
The deals, which come ahead of NEM Dubrovnik and NATPE Budapest later this month, see Profour taking My Life is Murder S5 in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The first four seasons have been acquired by BBC Studios for Poland and TV3 Group for Latvia, whilst CDA Premium, Poland has picked up a package of 28 hours including psychological thriller The Secrets She Keeps S1 and S2.
Banijay UK strikes development deal with Tom Harper indie
Banijay UK has struck a development partnership with Peaky Blinders director Tom Harper and Fifth Season alum Negeen Yazdi’s scripted label Popcorn Storm Pictures.
The deal will see Harper and Yazdi develop premium scripted content with Banijay UK and its labels, working with some of the country’s leading talent and IP.
They will have access to Banijay UK’s Scripted Hub, a network of support including business affairs, finance and production management, and the ability to co-produce with Banijay UK’s scripted labels. Read more
Canale 5 lands Turkish dramas
Italian broadcaster Canale 5 has added two Turkish dramas to its schedule.
Deception (Tradimento) and Valley of Hearts (La Notte Nel Cuore), which both launched last month, are from Tims&B Productions and sold by Turkish distributor InterMedya.
The deal with Canale 5 follows its pick-up of Bitter Lands, which scored highly on ratings for the Italian broadcaster. To date, Valley of Hearts has been licensed in more than 30 countries.
HBO preps Jayne Mansfield doc
HBO and streamer HBO Max are preparing to debut an original documentary from Mariska Hargitay that explores the life of her mother, Jayne Mansfield.
My Mom Jayne will premiere 27 June and marks Hargitay’s feature film directorial debut, with the series following the actor as she searches for the mother she never knew almost six decades after the Hollywood legend’s tragic death.
The doc uses interviews and an extensive collection of never-before-seen photos and home movies to explore the complicated public and private legacy of Mansfield, who died aged 34 when Hargitay was just three.
