Paramount’s Holland eyes senior hires
Paramount’s DTC chief Cindy Holland is reportedly set to hire former Netflix and Sister colleagues Jane Wiseman and Efrain Miron for the new-look US studio’s team.
The US reports came a day after David Ellison unveiled his senior exec team at Paramount ahead of the expected completion of its merger with Skydance later this week.
Skydance did not comment on the news, but comedy exec Wiseman is expected to work on content for Paramount, with legal exec Miron overseeing business.
UK advertised TV job vacancies 50% lower than 2019 levels
Data from industry site The Talent Manager reveals the number of available jobs continues to fall, but the rate is slowing
The volume of job vacancies in TV has fallen by more than half since 2019 although the rate of decline has begun to slow, according to data from The Talent Manager.
Figures collated for Broadcast show that both job adverts, and company searches for people to fill specific roles, peaked in early 2022 as the industry recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic and are now starting to settle.
In the first quarter of 2019, 1,467 jobs were posted to the site, which skews towards unscripted TV and is used by more than 85% of the top 150 indies and more than 120,000 freelancers.
From a peak of 2,434 in Q1 2022 – a rise of 93% year-on-year – job posts had fallen to 702 in the same quarter of 2024. In 2025, this dipped by 4.6% to 670. Read more
UK’s C4 orders Come Dine with Me teen special
Channel 4 has ordered a teen edition of Come Dine with Me alongside a new series of the veteran format to mark the show’s 20th anniversary.
Come Dine With Me Teens is a 5 x 30-minute series that sees five 16-19 year-olds set attempt to a cook a menu for a dinner party they will host for each other.
ITV Studios label MultiStory Media will produce the spin-off and is currently casting for young people living in and around Greater Manchester to take part in the contest, which will commence filming later this year. The series will TX on E4 and stream on C4. Read more
