“From the minute I met Fabian Bohan-Taghian, I knew he was a keeper,” says MultiStory Media North creative director Ceri Aston.

Bohan-Taghian says he’s driven to end the north/south divide in TV, sitting on the RTS North West committee and volunteering with Prolific North, the University of Salford and others to shout about what he describes as the “amazing creative minds” in the region.

Hired as a producer on the first series of BBC3’s Dubai Hustle, Bohan-Taghian became the show’s series producer and steered it through two further outings at the height of the pandemic.

Now he’s the sole development executive at MultiStory Media North, working with Aston and a small team to develop shows such as ITV1’s Dame Maggie Smith: A Celebration and ITV2’s Georgia Harrison: Porn, Power, Profit.

Last year, Bohan-Taghian, who is of mixed Iranian and Irish heritage and describes himself as “proudly neurodiverse”, produced six docs that aired under ITV’s Fresh Cuts strand. Working with an exec producer, he led the development of five ideas from first-time black, deaf, disabled or neurodivergent producer/directors, including dating format Date My Nan and female-led chat show Unfiltered Women. He also breathed new life into ITV’s Christmas Carols.

“Fabian is a truly multi-faceted producer who can turn his hand to almost anything,” says Aston. “He moves between development and production with ease, bringing in ideas, getting access, finding the best contributors and then producing shows and sizzles with an unrivalled energy and work ethic.”
