IPO values Newsplayer at£55 million
UK newsreel footage company Newsplayer has unveiled details of its flotation on London's Alternative Investment Market, which values the outfit at about£55 million.

The company, which supplies television and cinema newsreel footage over video-on-demand on the internet, set the price for its flotation at 84p per share to raise approximately£10.15 million. Newsplayer was founded last year and owns digital rights to TV and film news archives such as ITN, Reuters, Paramount, Gaumont and Visnews. It has also signed strategic alliances with media and technology partners including Microsoft and Yahoo!.

Dealing commences on 30 May.
