1920 has appointed Zaf Janjua as its head of production for film and episodic.

Janjua has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, most recently on the production side. However, he has worked at VFX houses in the past, including Union, MPC and Windmill Lane. His credits include Yesterday, See How They Run, and Disney’s Culprits.

This addition comes after 1920 expanded its facility earlier this year, growing it by 50% with extra space for production and tech support, desks for four VFX artists, as well as additional client space. Recent work has included Apple TV+’s Slow Horses and HBO’s True Detective, as well as Prime Video and Sky productions. On the commercial side, it has worked with clients such as Ikea and Xbox.

James Etherington-Sparks, creative director/head of film & episodic, commented: “I’m incredibly excited to have Zaf on board, having previously delivered several films together including The Dig. His wealth of experience will significantly bolster our Production team as we continue to expand and scale.”
