Creative studio appoints Phil Oldham and Jonathan Box to roles

Creative Studio Black Kite has appointed Phil Oldham and Jonathan Box as creative directors.

Box joins the company after a period as a freelancer, and has previously worked with Black Kite in that capacity. He has also held VFX supervisor roles at MPC, Unit and No. 8 during over 20 years in the industry. Meanwhile, Oldham joins after being executive creative director at Dublin-based Gabha Studios.

London-based Black Kite focuses on commercial work, and has recent credits including Ford ‘Ready Set Ford’, Fanta ‘Wanta Fanta’, KFC ‘Believe Pt 3’, Apple ‘iphone 17’, Telstra ‘Wherever We Go’ and McDonald’s ‘Heist’. 

Amy Richardson managing director of Black Kite, said, “Phil and Jonathan are two exceptional talents who each bring something distinct and hugely valuable to our studio. They embody so much of what makes Black Kite special, and will work closely with Executive Creative Director Adam Crocker and the wider leadership team.

“Phil brings his signature energy, experience and relationships to Black Kite, while Jonathan’s passion for AI and emerging tech continues to help push the studio forward creatively and technologically.”
