Halo, Evolutions and Relay join the Envy Group to create post-production behemoth
Envy Group has acquired the Halo Group, creating the UK’s largest privately-owned post-production outfit.
This sees Halo, Evolutions, which Halo Group only acquired itself last year, and its new location media management division Relay join existing Envy brands, Envy Post, Capture, Absolute, and Blind Pig. The resulting organisation is a full service production and post partner working across high-end drama, feature films, entertainment, factual, and documentaries, through to commercials, branded content, animation, and VFX.
Halo co-founders John Rogerson and Alan Jones move into senior leadership roles within Envy Group, along with some of the other Halo management team. The Halo Group brands, including Evolutions, will be kept for now, and assessed while they transition into Envy Group.
All staff and facilities, including the new Soho facility Halo opened this summer, will continue as normal, with clients working with the same people and services as before.
In addition, Envy Group has, “committed to ongoing investment in talent development, remote production technologies, and innovation in post and VFX.” This will likely be welcome news for the industry, following the recent collapses of Technicolor and Glassworks.
The move comes a few months after Envy triumphed in the best post-production house category at the Broadcast Awards 2025. Halo Group is also a previous winner, taking the gong in 2023.
Envy Group chief executive Dave Cadle said: “In a landscape that is shifting rapidly, the combination of Envy and Halo is about securing a future where creative excellence isn’t compromised by scale or instability. It’s about resilience through unity.”
Rogerson said: “This move isn’t about size for the sake of it, it’s about protecting what matters most which are people, talent and craft. We’ve built our business on shared values of creative passion and client trust. Together we are navigating change.”
Natascha Cadle, creative director at Envy Group, said: “In times like these, our greatest strength remains the people we work with which includes talent and clients alike. The industry is under pressure, which makes it vital than ever to invest in our teams and nurture emerging talent.
“With our new space, we are not just expanding but we are creating an environment designed to inspire and collaborate. For us, this is about building a future where creativity has the room it needs to grow.”
