It enables real-time collaboration across Harbor’s different locations
Harbor Picture Company has integrated FilmLight’s Nara across its US and UK facilities.
Nara gives producers, colourists, conform artists, and engineering teams faster access to media, enhanced accuracy, and real-time collaboration across locations, says FilmLight. It provides clients with the flexibility to work with Harbor seamlessly across any geography.
“At Harbor, we are constantly evolving our pipeline to support the ambitions of our artists and the expectations of our clients,” said Massimo D’Avolio, EVP, head of post production, Harbor. “Integrating Nara strengthens our enterprise-level infrastructure and ensures that we continue to deliver with speed, precision, and creative confidence. This is another step in our commitment to combining artistry with innovation to create a seamless experience for filmmakers, studios, and brands worldwide.”
“Nara integrates seamlessly with our existing tools, Baselight and Daylight, which we rely on for dailies, VFX pulls, conforming, and colour grading,” adds Zara Park, director of picture post, Harbor Los Angeles. “These systems already give us robust capabilities, especially for managing complex formats like IMFs, DCPs, and DCDMs. With Nara, we can now view materials in multiple colour spaces. This flexibility enhances collaboration across departments and locations, while maintaining the high standards Harbor is known for.”
Harbor’s Los Angeles team is already using Nara from the start of a project through final delivery. By extending this integration to New York and London, Harbor strengthens cross-site collaboration.
“Harbor has always been defined by our ability to connect artists and workflows seamlessly across genres and geographies,” says D’Avolio. “Integrating Nara further strengthens that promise. It allows us to move with even greater speed and precision, while giving our clients the confidence that wherever they engage with Harbor, they will experience the same level of excellence and access to world-class talent.”
“We’ve worked with Harbor for many years, and it’s always been a relationship built on trust, professionalism, and high standards,” says Sam Lempp, head of business development for Nara at FilmLight. “Seeing Nara now integrated across their global sites is a proud moment as it reflects our shared focus on efficiency, precision, and enabling the best creative outcomes.”
“Nara has become a powerful tool for our teams, enhancing collaboration and simplifying communication across departments,” says Park. “It streamlines workflows, minimises disruptions, and has quickly become second nature. Most of our operators now just say, ‘Look it up in Nara.’”
