The post house has achieved certification in the Chinese-developed HDR standard

The Finish Line has been awarded ‘HDR Vivid’ certification.
HDR Vivid is a relatively new HDR standard, which sets specifications for dynamic HDR metadata to achieve accurate tone mapping approved by the colourist. It was developed in China and has been broadly adopted by Chinese OEM manufacturers and OTT operators.
The certification programme for post houses was launched by the UHD World Association last year as a way for post houses to signify their expertise in delivering HDR Vivid content.
The Finish Line received its HDR Vivid certification while it is undergoing a full migration to QD-OLED reference monitoring across all 30 finishing systems, using Flanders Scientific displays.
Alongside this, all its senior colourists and finishing artists are also now certified for Dolby Vision mastering and delivery, “ensuring excellence across all major HDR formats,” says The Finish Line.
“Our goal has always been to provide world-class HDR finishing across every suite, every system, and every format our clients need,” said Zeb Chadfield, founder of The Finish Line. “Adding HDR Vivid certification is another step in making sure we continue to operate at a the highest level for delivery to the latest standards.”
