Vine FX has promoted Simon Carr to creative director.

Carr originally joined the company as a VFX supervisor in October 2024, and has over 30 years’ experience in the industry with the likes of Axis Studios, Territory, Halo, Pixomondo, Framestore and more. His credits include The Amateur, Star Trek Into Darkness, Oblivion, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Mank. 

As creative director, Carr will work with Vine FX’s VFX supervisors, artists, production and editorial teams to guide creative direction and delivery. He will be based at the VFX house’s Cambridge base. Vine FX recently launched another branch in Manchester

Carr said: “I’m delighted to be able to continue working with Vine FX in the role of Creative Director with the aim of supporting our talented team of VFX Supervisors and wonderful team across production, editorial and artists. I look forward to developing our slate of work and hopeful for a fruitful 2026.”
