Reef Television's daytime success Sun, Sea and Bargain Spotting has been picked up for a second series on BBC2 and is to be hosted by Angela Rippon.

The presenter - who until September fronted a branded Saturday and Sunday morning programme on the ITV News Channel - takes over from antiques dealer Chris Gower.

Experts from series one Mark Franks and Jonty Hearnden will be joined by London antiques valuation specialist, James Rylands in the new 15 x 60-minute series.

Each day the show will take teams of two to antiques markets in France or Italy to buy the best items they can find within a budget before returning to the UK to sell their wares. The contestant who makes the most money ends up the winner.

Featured locations will include the French Riviera, the Champagne region and Tuscany. Rippon will also take viewers off the beaten track to offer an insight into region's chateaux and collections.

The series, which is due to air early next year, was commissioned by BBC daytime controller Jay Hunt.
