Target Entertainment has struck a number of international deals for kids TV shows, including Chapman’s Roary the Racing Car and Raa Raa The Noisy Lion.

In the run up to Mipcom Jr, the rights management group has sold series one of Roary to Latvia’s public broadcaster LTV, and series two to Argentina’s Encuentro and Italy’s preschool channel YoYo. The Rai-owned Italian channel has also renewed the first series.

The 52 x 10-minute animated series, which airs on Five and Nick Jr in the UK, has also been picked up by Swiss Air, Air Mauritius, Royal Jordanian and Emirates airlines.

Chapman’s other property Raa Raa the Noisy Lion has also extended its international base, being sold into Israel (Hop!), Africa (CBeebies) and Slovenia (Pop TV).

Novel Entertainment’s Horrid Henry has been sold to the same broadcaster in Slovenia, as well as being bought by Emirates and Air Mauritius, which bought another Chapman series - Fifi and the Flowertots.

Canadian streaming platform Kidobi has bought a package totalling 85 hours of programmes, including Monster Animation’s Fluffy Gardens, Ted Seiger’s Molly Monster and Ambience Entertainment’s Larry the Lawnmower.

Target has also secured a number of re-licences for its kids’ properties including Roary with NRK Super in Norway and SVT Sweden and with CBeebies Australia for series 1 and 2 of Top TV Productions’ Big Cook, Little Cook.

Target’s director of sales Hannah Worrall says: “We are thrilled to have signed so many new deals across our kids’ slate in the run up to Mipcom. Chapman’s titles are always a hit worldwide and we are excited to represent some of the best-loved kids’ properties from leading independent producers.”
