The Ministry of Defence broadcaster has selected the streaming technology specialist to build ‘The Hub’

British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) is teaming up with Synamedia to deliver a global digital platform.

It chose Synamedia as its tech partner following an international tender process launched in February 2025.

The Ministry of Defence recently renewed BFBS’s contract for a further 10 years to broadcast to the UK Armed Forces wherever they serve.

As a provider of media services to Defence audiences worldwide, BFBS plays a central role in keeping personnel informed, entertained and connected across some of the most complex and challenging operating environments.

Synamedia’s role is to help shape the future of secure media delivery for the UK Armed Forces and their families worldwide. The company’s knowledge across streaming platforms, broadcast technology, and secure content distribution will enable BFBS to modernise its technology foundations.

Its remit is to build and evolve BFBS’s new media ecosystem, under the working title of “The Hub”.
