Van Geel was previously director of product marketing

Grass Valley has promoted Ronny Van Geel to VP of cameras.
Van Geel had been director of product marketing since joining the company in 2024. He has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, the vast majority in a previous stint of over 20 years with Grass Valley. He has also worked at Phillips and Bosch.
In the camera team, Van Geel will work on connecting the team’s deep technical expertise with the realities of modern production, and on turning that understanding into products for operators, creatives and production teams.
Van Geel said: “I’m excited to bring a broader perspective back into a field I care about deeply. There is an extraordinary depth of knowledge, craftsmanship and passion in the Camera team, built over many years and in close partnership with customers, operators and partners around the world. I’m looking forward to working with those teams to help people realize their creative intent and tell more captivating stories in new ways.”
He added: “What I find particularly exciting is the opportunity to connect this team’s deep expertise with the next chapter of production. Camera systems are evolving alongside the way people create, operate and deliver content. Our role is to listen closely, make strong choices and build tools that give operators, creatives, production teams and partners more freedom, more confidence and less friction in bringing their stories to life.”
Adam Marshall, chief product officer at Grass Valley, said: “Ronny brings an exceptional combination of deep camera expertise, product experience and a broad understanding of how media production is evolving. He knows this business from multiple perspectives, and he has a strong instinct for turning what he sees in the market into products that matter to the people using them. We’re very pleased to have him leading our Camera product organization and bringing that experience to the team”.
