On-site cache allows users in different centralised locations to collaborate
LucidLink has launched TeamCache into early access.
The on-site caching tool aims to eliminate duplicate workstation caching and reduces internet contention by serving local users on-site and only connecting to the internet when a user from outside the office needs to collaborate. It is accessed in the same way as regular LucidLink.
TeamCache also includes centralised monitoring and health insights across capacity, performance and client activity. Paths, permissions and zero-knowledge security also continue as normal.
“The industry has been waiting for cloud storage that feels local without compromising security or control,” said Peter Thompson, LucidLink’s CEO. “TeamCache gives distributed teams the performance they need while keeping the simplicity and zero-knowledge model customers expect from LucidLink.”
In addition to TeamCache, LucidLink also announced the LucidLink Upgrade Tool, which allows users to ugrade from LucidLink Classic (2.x) to the new LucidLink (3.x) without copying data.
