Priced at £10,599+VAT, the high-speed cinema camera shoots 4K at 1,000fps and features a Super 35mm sensor with global shutter

Pixboom Spark Silver & Black

PROAV has been appointed the UK distributor for PIXBOOM, which is behind the Spark high-speed cinema camera.

The Spark has now moved into full-scale production following a successful Kickstarter campaign. PROAV describes the camera as “game-changing technology” – priced at just £10,599+VAT, it puts high-frame-rate cinematography in the hands of the wider filmmaking community.

The PIXBOOM Spark features a Super 35mm BSI (Backside Illuminated) sensor with a Global Shutter.

It delivers:

  • 4K at 1,000fps and 2K at 1,800fps for breathtaking slow-motion.
  • 4.6K Open Gate recording at 670fps.
  • 13+ stops of dynamic range and Dual Native ISO for exceptional low-light performance.
  • 10 bit and 12 bit recording options
  • Unlimited RAW recording via a high-speed SSD system, removing the limitations of traditional RAM buffers.

PROAV will act as the UK’s central pre- and post-sales hub for the Spark. Filmmakers from solo YouTubers and branded content creators to major rental houses and TV production companies can now demo the kit by visiting PROAV’s Hemel Hempstead showroom.

“We have always been passionate about putting the best possible tools into the hands of creators,” says Nick Millen, commercial director at PROAV. “The PIXBOOM Spark is a rare ‘unicorn’ in the industry—offering specs that usually cost upwards of £50,000 at a fraction of that price. By acting as the UK service and support hub, we’re ensuring that Spark owners have the local backup and expertise they need to keep shooting without compromise.”

The PIXBOOM Spark is expected to begin shipping from May 2026.
