ITV Studios Nordic has recruited a new creative director ahead of a new local production of Come Dine With Me.

Freelance producer/director Calle Östlund has been hired to head development across ITVS’ Scandinavian production company, reporting into ITVS Nordic chief executive Hans Engholm.

Östlund previously developed and produced formats such as Room Service and directed drama productions including Stormen (The Storm) and Ally och lite till (Everything and then some) for Sweden’s SVT.

ITVS Nordic has adapted formats including business reality show Dragons’ Den, bridal show Four Weddings and dinner party  competition Come Dine With Me, which returns for a new series on Nelonen-owned channel LIV in Finalnd.

The appointment follows ITVS’ rebrand of the Nordic operations from Silverback last month, having acquired the indie in 2008 for £5.2m as part of its ongoing international expansion.
