Africa’s journey into dense tropical rainforest helped it recover from last week’s series low - as Manchester United’s FA Cup replay scored a near 6.3m peak.

Africa (BBC1) 9pm-10pm
5.94m (23.5%)

The nature show crept above last week’s performance of 5.74m (22.5%) and was more than 700k viewers ahead BBC1’s slot average of 5.06m (21.27%) for the past 12 months.

Africa launched with 6.49m (25.14%) on 2 January, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by Attentional.

FA Cup Replay (ITV) 8pm-10.15pm
5.2m (21.35%)

Manchester United’s nervy 1-0 victory over West Ham peaked with 6.26m (26.78%) at 8.10pm.

One Born Every Minute (C4) 9pm-10pm
2.4m (9.48%)

The birthing series continued with an audience that was marginally up on last week’s 2.37m (9.31%).

Celebrity Big Brother (C5) 9pm-10.30pm
2.25m (9.45%)

The live eviction helped C5 grab fourth place in the 9pm slot. It peaked with 2.69m (12.31%) over the five-minutes from 10.05pm as model Lacey Banghard became the latest celebrity to be voted off.

Funny Business (BBC2) 9pm-10pm
800k (3.12%)

BBC2’s series on the business of comedy badly underperformed, dipping below the station’s slot average of 1.28m (5.39%) for the past 12 months.

Broadcast has changed the way it reports ratings to include time-adjusted +1 services. It means final audience figures now include linear, HD simulcast, +1, and same day recorded viewing.
