Diamondsstars Judy Davis as a US senator whose daughter is murdered at an African diamond mine.

Derek Jacobi (pictured) plays the head of the diamond company. James Purefoy stars as his ruthless son.

Diamonds is co-produced with Toronto-based Sienna Films, South Africa's Philo Films and Paris-based Breakout Films.

It is being shot in South Africa.

The two-parter is written by David Vainola ( The Other Prison, Curiosities) and directed by British director Andy Wilson ( Spooks, Gormenghast, Cracker).
