BBC/Discovery Communications joint-venture pay-TV channel Animal Planet will launch on cable and satellite platforms in Brazil later this month.

The service will be available to around 685,000 new subscribers via Net Brazil, the country's largest cable operator, and satellite platform Sky from 25 June. Animal Planet is now available to around 5.7 million subscribers outside the US, while the other BBC/Discovery joint-venture channel, People & Arts, is distributed to 9.4 million homes.
