The BBC has launched BBCText on the digital satellite (Dsat) platform, making it the only UK broadcaster to offer interactive services across the three main digital platforms. The Dsat service enables viewers to continue watching television in quarter screen, while accessing additional information such as news, sport and weather details. The service has been available to Telewest digital cable viewers since August last year and digital terrestrial viewers since November 1999.
